A couple of days ago, famed comic scribe Alan Moore launched a Kickstarter campaign looking for funding for his upcoming project Cinema Purgatorio. Within days, the project has exceeded its original $9.000 request several times over, and currently sits at over 60 thousand dollars. This means that Moore’s newfound passion project will hit shelves later this year, courtesy of Avatar Press.

In addition, the anthology series will feature contributions from a plethora of amazing talent.

Kieron Gillen and Ignacio Calero will join forces to tell a story about “a dystopian future where enhanced monsters and daemons are pitted against each other, with a goal of catching them all!”, while Garth Ennis and Raulo Caceres tell an “ongoing tale of the night shift FDNY paramedic Pru as she learns about the beastly NY City underworld… and how to offer them medical assistance!” On top of that, Christos Gage and Gabriel Andrade tells a story that finds humanity in a never ending war, where a woman discovers a way to survive. Rounding out the cast are Max Brooks and Michael DiPascale who will offer a new take on the Civil War, where the South finds themselves invaded by Giant Insects.

A full description for the project, as well as all the ongoing stories within the comic, can be found on the Kickstarter page by clicking here.
